Alumni Spotlight: An Idea for Doing Good, Does Better
Citi’s “e for Education,” a global campaign for education-focused charities, was conceived by Caryn Leventhal after participating in a Mohr Collaborative Innovation Leadership program. Each year for ten weeks, Citi’s FX business donates $1 for every $1 million of FX transacted electronically in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. In it’s first year, e for Education significantly increased trading volume and raised far more for charity than anyone expected. Now in its 4th year, the campaign raised $4 million between September and November 2016, and continues to deliver brand differentiation in an increasingly commoditized market.
